Midterm Format

Hi guys,

Many of you have asked me about the format for the midterm. It will be about 40 multiple choice and 10 free response. No formula sheet (so know your differentiation rules!) but you will be given a unit circle. There will be a calculator and no calculator section. Any problems on the multiple choice that have to do with the graph of a function (increasing/decreasing, concave up/down) you will not be able to use a calculator. The midterm reviews are up on the web if anyone needs an extra.

Thanks,

Mr. Joseph

Welcome to Introductory Calculus

Hi class,
This blog is where you will be able to access your homework assignments and any announcements about the class. Please remember to add this site as a bookmark on your browser so that you can return to it easily.

Your homework tonight is to:
1) read and study the Introduction Handout. There will be a short quiz tomorrow over the reading, and I will let you use any notes that you take on a separate piece of paper.
2) answer as best you can questions a-d on page 2 of the worksheet handed out in class (we will be discussing them tomorrow)
3) organize your Calculus binder as suggested in the Course Guidelines.
Make sure to bring it tomorrow, along with your graphing calculator.

Also, make sure that you have downloaded Mathematica onto your computer by this Friday, August 21st. If you have trouble following the directions on the handout, come into tutorials and I will help you with it.

Also, please let me know if you do not have your book yet. You will need it for tomorrow night's assignment.

Thanks and I look forward to a great year with all of you,

Mr. Joseph
