HW 8

Hi guys,

Today we covered solving trig equations from the Appendix D.3. We will be having a test over Chapter P/Appendix D on Thursday Sept. 3rd. Your HW tonight is as follows:

HW 8

1) Appendix D.3 (the packet) #'s 27-37 all, 39

2) Fill in info on sin, cos, tan, csc, sec, and cot on yellow Parent Functions packet(from last week). See pg. D23 in Appendix D for help.

Thanks and good luck,

HW 6/Chapter P Test next Thursday, Sept. 3rd!

Hi guys,

Today we covered my example of the Mathematical Modeling Project, which is due on Friday, September 4th. I will be available in tutorials if you are having trouble with Mathematica or any other aspects of the project. Please let me know if you are having trouble. Also, we will have test over Chapter P next Thursday September 3rd.

Tonight's HW is the following:

HW 6

1) Bookwork: Section P.3 (pg. 28) #'s 53, 55 (these are the problems from last night's assignment)

2) On the same paper, analytically determine the domain of the functions 1-5 in the picture above. See P.3a notes for domain examples.

3) Gather some data points for your project. Section P.4 in your book has some good ideas. Let me know if you need help.

Thanks and good luck,

Mr. Joseph

Welcome to Introductory Calculus

Hi class,
This blog is where you will be able to access your homework assignments and any announcements about the class. Please remember to add this site as a bookmark on your browser so that you can return to it easily.

Your homework tonight is to:
1) read and study the Introduction Handout. There will be a short quiz tomorrow over the reading, and I will let you use any notes that you take on a separate piece of paper.
2) answer as best you can questions a-d on page 2 of the worksheet handed out in class (we will be discussing them tomorrow)
3) organize your Calculus binder as suggested in the Course Guidelines.
Make sure to bring it tomorrow, along with your graphing calculator.

Also, make sure that you have downloaded Mathematica onto your computer by this Friday, August 21st. If you have trouble following the directions on the handout, come into tutorials and I will help you with it.

Also, please let me know if you do not have your book yet. You will need it for tomorrow night's assignment.

Thanks and I look forward to a great year with all of you,

Mr. Joseph
